Upon hearing that Li Dingyuan had left on a crane to the west, I felt compelled to express my thoughts.

The actions and merits of a politician will be subject to eternal commentary. During my time in Beijing, I had the opportunity to meet Mr. Li Keqiang. Since 2016, influential figures have commented on the overall economic situation, leading to a shift in the direction of the venture capital industry. It is only through this that I gained some understanding of the power struggle between the government and the legislature. Life is unpredictable, and I dare not easily judge the profound experiences of others. So, let me jest with a few poorly composed classical-style poems, with uneven tones, just for fun.

Authoritative figures compete against the passage of time, while Hai Rui hangs his seal in the rain by the southern window.

Flowers fall, birds sing, but the person is absent. Bamboo withers, paulownia dies, and the wind becomes scarce.

The Yangtze River and the Yellow River flow westward, while the boundless sea sees the red sun rise in the east.

Pigeons and crows cry out in chaos, as the autumn wind and rain envelop the old city.

Several annotations:

  • "1" Authoritative figures: Refers to the year 2016 when the People's Daily published an article titled "Insights into China's Current Economic Situation by Authoritative Figures." Since then, the power of Premier Li Keqiang has been weakened, and Liu He has become the leading figure in economic policy. Here, authoritative figures may refer to the Party Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping at the core.
  • "2" Hai Rui hangs his seal: Refers to the historical event of the play "Hai Rui Dismissed from Office." Chairman Mao Zedong used this as an excuse to challenge Beijing, thus igniting the prelude to the Cultural Revolution. It bears a resemblance to authoritative figures commenting on the economy,
  • "3" The Yangtze River and the Yellow River: In his final press conference before stepping down, Li Keqiang stated, "The Yangtze River and the Yellow River will not reverse their course!"<b>
  • "4" Pigeons and crows: In the Bible, pigeons may represent the Holy Spirit, symbolizing purity, as they bring olive branches. However, in the Bible, they also represent foolishness and gullibility. Like Ephraim, who is like a foolish and ignorant dove, they seek help from Egypt and run to Assyria.
  • "5" Red sun: "How the Red Sun Rises"
  • "6" Cry out in chaos: Crows enjoy the smell of decay and cry out in chaos. They can sense human emotions but cannot comprehend their sorrow and complexity.
